Kasey Boone’s FAV Peels

Kasey Boone’s FAV Peels

As a forewarning to this post, you know by now that I am a Cosmedix die hard, particularly with peels - so the majority of the peels listed below are within the Cosmedix brand. I personally love Cosmedix peels because many of them are self-neutralizing and chirally corrected. With peels, there is always a fine line between treating the skin and causing inflammation. I am ALWAYS going to recommend that you do your homework first. Read up on how each peel works, the pros and what to look out for. Then test them out, on yourself and other people like friends and family so you can get feedback. Once you are confident in the product usage, you can use the peels on your clients. So with Cosmedix, I have found that it is difficult to cross that line. Also, Cosmedix peels are great to layer with other products regardless of the brand, which is not a common feature of peels. Now that you have all been warned, The following are my absolute favorites:

Cosmedix- Blueberry Jessner

I LOVE this peel - it is a peel season fav for sure! This peel contains chirally corrected acids, including salicylic and lactic acid. Both help reduce fine lines, wrinkles and blemishes. This is the ideal peel for clients who have damaged and or discolored skin. With time and proper usage this peel will lead you to have a clearer, smoother and even-toned complexion. This is also one of my favorite peels to layer. I use it as a base and then stack on one of the peels mentioned below, like Benefit or Clarity. Doing this will take your peel game to the next level and provide AMAZING results when done correctly.

Cosmedix- Benefit Peel

This peel is a mild brightening peel that contains fruit enzymes, salicylic acid and retinol that gently exfoliates the skin and stimulates collagen production without excessive peeling. This is a great peel for hypersensitive, aging, and break-out prone skin.

Cosmedix- Clarity Peel

Also including retinol, this peel acts as a multi-tasking exfoliator that hydrates and lifts pore-clogging impurities leaving clients with a softer, smoother and clearer complexion. Great for any skin type!

Cosmedix- Essential Peptide Peel

Another retinol inclusive peel. This peel exfoliates and offers a gentle metabolic treatment that can reduce signs of aging. One of my favorite things about this peel is that it is enriched with raspberry oil to help the skin defend itself from the harsh effects of UV rays. Anyone who is looking for a brighter and more youthful complexion, this is the peel for them!

Cosmedix- Pomegranate Peel

Rich with antioxidants to help treat superficial blemishes on the skin as a result of sun damage, while also gently stimulating collagen. This peel is best known to help with getting that even-toned skin that everyone wants.

Cosmedix- Deep Sea Peel

I can’t lie, this peel is no joke! The best way I can explain it is it feels like  fiberglass is scratching your face. Ouch! It is also very uncomfortable to remove as it is a manual peel which means whenever it is being manipulated on the skin it is working its magic. Even though this peel is extremely intense, it is safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women. This is because it is all natural! This is a multi-depth, acid-free, all herbal peel that is rich in sea herbs and powerfully heals and revitalizes the skin. This peel is for anyone looking for smoother, denser, evenly toned and brighter skin. Just make sure your client is able to handle the discomfort and has a high pain tolerance.

Olga Lorencin- Red Carpet Facial

Finally, a non-Cosmedix product! This is a three-step kit, which includes a peel, neutralizer and a polishing mask. This kit is enriched with lactic acids and amino acids to exfoliate and refine the skin and help boost the skin’s immunity. If you have congested skin, this is the peel for you.

These are just some of my favorites! But like I said before, do your homework and research the peels that would work for you and your clients. There are so many professional peel options! As a reminder, before using any product in the treatment room, try it on yourself. Like I have said before, you should know better than anyone whether a peel is effective and safe!

Happy peeling!

Xoxo
