Mom Things- Skincare Tool Hacks
Hey guys! Hailey here, with a blog on mom things. Well, kind of. If you’ve been following along, you know I had my first baby in June. His name is Clark and he is the best thing ever. If you are a new-mom, old-mom or mom at all, you get what I mean, and if you are wanting to become a mom, let me tell ya, there is a LOT to look forward to. But man, is there a lot of figuring out that has to be done. I am a firm believer in the fact that everything is figure-out-able, and there is a hack or trick for so many things in life. I love figuring things out! Anyway, I want to share how I have been using Glow Skincare™ products in the first few months of being a mom.
So where do we start? How about at the nipples? Perfect! Okay, sorry in advance if this is TMI, but this is real life so let’s just talk about it. Sore, raw nips are the name of the game and I am not having it. I love being a breastfeeding mama and I am fortunate enough to be able to experience this with Clark, but WOW is it a lot of work and can be painful at times. I get that its part of the deal, but I’m not really into the pain, I wanted to at least help it. There are tons of creams and ointments you can use, but that is not for me. My thought is, I’m putting this in my babies mouth, do I really want something on there? No, not at all. But the pain and discomfort are not ideal. So, in comes the Cold Roller. Ugh a lifesaver! I know this hack may not be for everyone, but don’t knock it til ya try it. It really couldn’t be much easier, grab your cold roller from your fridge or freezer, mine is in the fridge because I didn’t want level 1000 freezing on my sensitive tatas, and cold roll your nipple. Yup that is it. Do it for as long as you want. I’ve been doing it when I think about it, or when they are extra sensitive. I’ll cold roll until the barrel starts warming up and then I tuck that baby away until the next time! This has helped me so much and I hope it helps you or a mama friend in need too!
Okay, next up we have our Glow Towel™! These super soft microfiber towels are the PERFECT towel to wash your baby with. The first time we bathed Clark of course I had no clue what I was doing, but I did know we needed a washcloth. As parents, we only want the best for our kids and the GT is it. This towel was so gentle on his skin. I felt confident knowing it would be soft enough not to bother him as well as quality enough to actually clean him. The only thing softer than these towels are a babies skin and I plan on keeping it this way. Of course you could always use the washcloth that comes with the Wash Your Face Headband + Washcloth, but when you have a boy, its nice to have more surface area, you know what I mean? This towel is perfect because you can use the face flaps to clean your baby, while the bottom of the towel covers their little body and keeps them warm. It’s a luxe baby bath experience for sure.
Tiger’s Eye Gua Sha + Reflexology
Mommy and me, not really sure what that entails exactly, but in our house, it means Gua Sha + Reflexology for me and for Clark. I’m very into anything I can do with one hand right now and this is it. One night, I was feeding Clark, it was dark, too dark to really see much and I didn’t want to have my phone or anything stimulating. Then I realized, the Tiger’s Eye is the perfect thing to be doing with my free hand. As I sat there and did some facial massage on myself, I thought, maybe Clark wants some too! I am not a baby facial massage expert, but, he liked it, or tolerated it at least. This is the perfect tool to use on yourself and your baby. There are so many benefits and you really can’t mess it up.
“Wash Your Face” Headband + Washcloth
By the grace of God, I have actually done my skincare routine every day since Clark was born. Priorities ya know? No skincare routine is complete without a headband. I don’t need my hair getting wet while I have 45 seconds to do my 13 step skincare routine. So no hack here, other than, use it! I have a few at home, so I am able to rotate between the OG Wash Your Face Headband and the Double Cleanse Headbands. Having extra is great because sometime they don’t make it into the next load of laundry.
Anyway, those are some of my tips, I hope you find something that helps you, your girlfriend or your clients! Let us know if you want to hear any other mom things!
P.S. I am not a medical professional (duh), these are just things I have done that work for me and Clark.
X,
Your honorary esthetician and Clark’s Mom,
Hailey
